The Vision
The vineyard is no longer just a workplace, but an open-air museum where cultivating grapes becomes an art
A reality where art and design intertwine
Art in the Vineyard
The Winemaker, Craftsman, and Artist of the Territory
For us, managing a winery doesn't just mean cultivating grapes and producing wine. It means knowing how to enhance one of the many forms of expression of the territory. That's why art and design are so intertwined with our reality, and we wanted to bring the vineyard to life not only as a workplace but also as a small open-air museum.
In particular, we found a strong affinity with the works of artist Paolo Colombini. Just as cultivating grapes can become an art form through wine, Colombini has turned stone into a powerful expression of what nature has to offer.
Having grown up in the porphyry quarries, his work with stone gave birth to an intuition, and at that point, porphyry became a form of art. He has transformed one of the most widely used materials in the world into an object of contemplation. Through precise cutting, Colombini frees the soul of the stone and, with color, shows us the inner aspect of nature in all its balance and harmony.
Paolo Colombini 1950 - 2022
Born and raised in Fornace, Paolo Colombini first worked in his family's porphyry quarries before becoming an entrepreneur in the industry.
It was his experience with porphyry that sparked his artistic talent in 1995, with the intuition of transforming stone into art. Since then, his works have traveled the world: he has exhibited in London, Shanghai, Venice, Los Angeles, Austria, and France.
In Trento, he created the artwork for the Nassyria roundabout on Via Brennero, commissioned by the Carabinieri in memory of the 2023 massacre in Iraq and as a symbol of love for the homeland.
Unnamed
The inexhaustible energy that the stone transmitted to Paolo seems to have magically passed to this environment. It was winter when he saw something magical in this place, nestled in the middle of the mountains. A place where his art would find full expression. The energy that the stone transmitted to Paolo may be the same that it gives to our vineyards, to our wines.
A few months later you left us.
Now we want to remember you like this.Light
The light is also staged or rather it is the light that stages the sculpture, strengthening its details and contrasts. It is the sun, generator of movement and life, of the cycle of the seasons, of the alternation between day and darkness, the primary source of light that gives meaning and vigor to the works.
An impetuous and dynamic intervention and through a cut the stone welcomes its essential light and transmits it with new, regenerated strength.
Not only that: he shows us his intimate soul, so different from the rough surfaces of his skin, he leads us to meditation to help us discover that there is a world above us.River Flower
The evocation of the river flowing between the mountains recalls belonging and the connection to the territory, but also to the water that gives strength and life. It is a perpetual motion that recalls the concept of timelessness of nature, and of stone in particular, and which reveals to man the conflict between the contingency of knowledge and the desire for the infinite.
I preserve the natural appearance of the stone, interpreting the shapes rather than sculpting them, trying not to betray the infantile suggestions linked to the contemplation of a mysterious fact.
Then it is a decisive, drastic gesture that divides, multiplies as in the first division of the cell nucleus, to regenerate life, color, light.Presences
"I believe that stones breathe, we cannot perceive it with our short lives".
The stones narrate the origin of humanity and that ancestral bond with nature from which everything derives in a conflictual relationship of contrasting forces in constant search for harmony.
These "presences" must be touched, felt with all our senses to recover primary, tactile, elementary emotions.
Their silence, their incommunicability is only apparent. Pure matter dialogues with the artificial environment built by man and for man: but it is by respecting the earth, its mystery that man will find the meaning of himself.
The Works
Art
Classic method 100% Chardonnay expression of art and territory
A bubble that goes beyond the ability to make wine, to create a broader project. Art is a project of beauty and culture, designed to enhance the expression of art and territory.
A Trento Doc conceived to be the driving force for numerous initiatives and events linked to art and the sharing of beautiful moments.
Its very visual identity, starting from the white, free and minimal label, deliberately leaves a space to be enriched with the imagination, as if it were a blank canvas to fill. The tissue that wraps the bottle instead creates a connection with the world of art, in anticipation of the many events organized at the cellar immersed in the vineyards of the Piana Rotaliana and the collaborations with important artists.
