Piana Rotaliana, land of Teroldego
A winery immersed in vineyards at the foot of the Dolomites
Immersed in vineyards at the foot of the Dolomites, De Vigili Winery collects and transforms the fruits of one of the most renowned wine regions in Trentino.
Piana Rotaliana is a plain located between the Adige River and the Noce River, surrounded by the Dolomite rock walls of the Mezzocorona and Mezzolombardo mountains. It is an area formed by the Adamello and Presanella glaciers, enjoying significant temperature variations between day and night due to the cold winds from the alpine glaciers and the warm air currents from Lake Garda.
Thanks to the glacial movement, the subsoil is characterized by a layer of fertile sand and silt with the presence of Tonalite pebbles.
On this unique soil, where the rock still plays a significant role, Teroldego vines grow, cultivated according to the traditional pergola doppia trentina.
The Cellar
A constant search for quality and precision
The contemporary identity of the cellar and the harmony with the surrounding territory are also reflected in the modern and solid forms of the architecture.
The architectural project has been carefully thought out and brought to life to contribute to the value of the visitors' experience, who can taste a wine made with passion surrounded by the beauty of design, artworks, vineyards, sun, and mountains. All in pursuit of a constant search for quality and precision.
The new cellar is currently in the design phase: 1400sqm completely underground to minimize the impact on the environment.
Yesterday and today
A history that dates back to the nineteenth century
The tradition of the De Vigili family dates back to the nineteenth century, when Ottavio De Vigili produced and marked carats destined for the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
With the advent of the Great Wars, there was a sudden interruption of winemaking activity due to the sale of a large part of the property in 1939. However, thanks to the determination of Ottavio initially and later of Aldo, the company managed to rebuild itself on the two and a half hectares of property.
In a territory squeezed between mountains and where the value of the land is extremely high, it is not easy to achieve significant vineyard surfaces, but the De Vigili family has always based its activity not so much on size as on the pursuit of quality.
It is precisely with this philosophy that the De Vigili Agricultural Company was reborn in 2015, led by Francesco. With an additional two hectares of vineyards, a completely new structure, and a bold, contemporary, and inclusive idea of what a winery can offer.
